THE CACTUS HOUSE

Living in Milan in 2042
Concept
The goal of this project was to envision a hypothetical home in future Milan that considers drastic climate changes, rapidly advancing technologies, and attention to mental well-being. After considering various metaphors related to isolation, peace, and relaxation, the concept evolved into a cactus house, inspired by the resilience and behavior of the plant in nature. The Cactus House recreates an environment that provides users with isolation from the external world, relax and freedom. Goal: Simulation of an Autonomous Life like that Led by a Cactus, in a hypothetical Future. The Cactus House is designed to comfortably accommodate two people, divided into two domes totaling 66.6 square meters. It is ideal for those seeking a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city, such as students and young couples. Components of the Cactus House:
Light Dome (38.2 sqm)
Greenhouse Dome (28.2 sqm.)
Inspired by the natural cactus that reaches towards the sun like all plants, it was replicate this by ensuring the house "captures" light through large openings, respecting the available space. Designed to be self-sustaining, the Cactus House ensures a secure, serene future living environment in harmony with nature.
